The storying camp in Logozohue got off to a great start this morning. There were fewer people attending than the previous camps, but the intensity of learning and studying had not faded. 1/2 of our team led the camp sessions this morning and the other half went out evangelizing in the area. After a time to rest during the worst of the afternoon heat, the team went back out evangelizing. One group met up with a man from Nigeria who spoke English. He is a Christian and was very excited to cross paths with the team. He shared that he had not been able to attend church in the area because no one spoke English and he does not speak Fon (the language of the Mahi). He wanted either a team member or a translator to stay there so he could attend church and understand the spoken words. As they were explaining that this really wasn't possible, one of the ladies that is a member of the church in Logozohue came up. She knows Yorba which is the African language the Nigerian man speaks. She committed to translating for him and he committed to attend regularly the worship services. Our God is an awesome God! He connected a Yorba speaking NIgerian with a Fon speaking Beninese (who just happened to know Yorba) through English speaking Americans--in a remote place called Logozohue, Benin, West Africa. No matter the language, the praise is the same--Jesus is Lord, Glory to the Most High God.
Storying training continues on Tuesday. Keep praying. Pray that the stories that are told will open people's hearts to the One True God.
