On to Logozohue

John and the Singermans travelled to Cotonou Saturday and met up with the team.  They divided into 2 groups this morning for church--one group attended the service at the church in Glazoue and the other went to a nearby village where Phillippe, pastor and evangelist, has started a new church.  Jake and Austin both got to preach this morning.  The rest of the team also shared in the services.  Worship with the Mahi is special--the services are filled with singing, dancing [be sure to ask John about his dancing in church:) ], praying, studying the Word and glorifying God.  Because our team was there, the service would have been conducted in at least 2 languages and possibly as many as 4.  Praying in church African style is quite different from our culture.  Every one prays simultaneously and prays audibly.  Then after several minutes, the pastor or another leader will raise his voice and draw that particular prayer to a close with a chant (almost like a cheer) that proclaims Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord.   Often the congregation will enter into another prayer immediately--praying for another prayer request followed by the chant and this repeats several times.  Corporate worship and agreeing with each other in prayer takes on a new meaning when you are in the African bush praying in this manner.  Without a doubt, our team experienced a blessed time of worship this morning.

This afternoon the Singermans returned to Cotonou and the team drove to Logozohue and moved into their house for the next storying camp.  After settling into the house, they went to a neighboring village and began establishing a connection in order to evangelize there later in the week.
Housing in Logozohue is comfortable and the church in Logozohue is a very strong church.  Pastor Jonas has a wonderful congregation that is loving and eager to share Christ.  Pray that the church members who attend the storying camp will become skilled in the storying so that they can expand their influence among the Mahi.  Storying camp begins Monday morning.  Pray also that our team members will make each story new and fresh for the participants even though it is now at least the 3rd time they have taught each story.

Everyone continues to be healthy.  They enjoyed the days of respite at the Bethel Hotel in Glazoue--some rest, some hiking in the mountains, some more rest, chilled water and a coke, some more rest, a few card games, some more rest.  The time spent recharging will prove to be very valuable as they begin storying camp # 3.  Pray expectantly that God will move in the lives of many people in Logozohue.
