Aklampka Camp Off to Great Start!

Talked with Kathryn Porter around 3:00 this afternoon--8:00 Benin time.  The first day of their training camp went exceptionally well.  The team began the camp around 9:00 in the morning and went until 3:30.  About 40 people participated in the storying training.  After the training, the team walked through the village going door to door (or hut to hut) visiting and sharing with a number of people.  In particular, Pastor Nicholas wanted some of the team to visit with a specific non-believer.  The team had the opportunity to share with the man and then spent some time in prayer with him and over him.  Pray that the seeds that were planted today will come to fruition.

The team was able to teach 4 stories today.  They were blessed to not have rain at all during the day today although it was hot.  When I talked with Kathryn the rain was moving in.  They are in a house and a national lady in the church cooked for them--chicken and rice.  Kathryn reported that the drive up from Cotonou was not too bad--it was raining but the roads were manageable.  In the house, they were able to stay dry, slept on the mats on the floor with mosquito nets, and actually had a good night's rest  although there were rumors of some snorers in the group :)

Even more people are expected to attend the training camp on Wednesday.  We are looking forward to hearing more great things from Aklampka!
