Job Well Done, God Has Blessed and Worked in Mighty Ways

Monday afternoon the team members returned to Glazoue after having spent two evenings in villages. Their experiences gave us more information on the feasibility of having students spend extended time working in villages. Perhaps even more importantly, having team members spend time in the homes of pastors and lay leaders provided opportunity to encourage and support these men of God and their families. Monday afternoon the team was given time to rest and re-charge.

Tuesday morning 1/2 the team went to Gbalin. Not surprisingly, the team reports it was HOT in Gbalin. It seems Gbalin is the hottest place around. We are sure they found some mango trees to gather under and were grateful for the shade The team met with King Tofa. They presented Tofa with a framed photo of Tofa and A.B. Sawyer taken on a previous trip. Tofa had asked for a copy of the photo and was very pleased to receive it. The team was able to determine that the very small nucleus of believers forming the church are still trying very hard to establish a church and get it to take root in Gbalin. They want to purchase some land to build a church building. The team was asked to appeal to Tofa to use his influence to help these believers purchase land. Tofa was very receptive to the request and said he would give great consideration to the request since it was coming from Americans and would work toward facilitating a land purchase at a fair price. This little church group has seen great persecution and many struggles in the two years we have been involved in Benin. Pray that they will remain strong in the faith and active in sharing their testimony as they evangelize among their neighbors. Gbalin has so much voodoo throughout the village--it is truly a huge mission field.

The other 1/2 of the team went to Fifidge and conducted a mini-camp training the believers then went evangelizing in the afternoon. They also went to another small village nearby. We continue to discover villages that do not have churches and that need Jesus. They report the day was a very fruitful experience.

The team continues to remain healthy. Wednesday they will return to the Cotonou area. Pray that the travel from Glazoue to Cotonou will be uneventful. The roads are very dangerous, the traffic is heavy, the potholes are numerous, and the trip is tiresome. Pray for safe travel. After arriving in Cotonou, they will have an opportunity to visit a local market and get a few hours rest.

They leave Benin at 12:40 a.m Thursday (Georgia time) and will arrive in Atlanta some 21 hours later. Pray for safe flying, for the opportunity to rest on the plane, and for quick adjustments back in America to the time zone in order that each person will be able to get right on whatever responsibilities they have here in the states.

The team has been able to accomplish nearly every goal that was set for this trip! God has blessed in mighty and amazing ways. Well Done--good and faithful servants!

We continue to praise God for what He is doing in Benin and thank Him for allowing us to be part of the mission.
