Blessed Worship Time, Benin Dinner

Our team spent Sunday worship in 4 different churches. Two of these are well established churches, and the other two are small house churches in villages with only a small number of believers. After sleeping in the villages, the team members preached, shared testimonies, music and stories with the churches and had a special time of encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ.

One team reported having traditional African food for dinner including bush rat and pounded yam--sounds delicious!!!!!!

Monday everyone gathers together again in Glazoue and then heads to Gbalin where they hope to meet with King Tofa. The little church that began in Gbalin has seen great persecution, and we believe it is virtually non-existent at this point. Pray that the team will connect with some believers and provide the encouragement and support needed to see that little church take root and grow. Pray also for a powerful time with King Tofa--that he will be encouraged and strengthened in his faith and his decision a year and a half ago to be a follower of Christ. Pray that he will truly cast aside all the voodoo and traditional African religious rites he has know all his life.

Tuesday the team plans on evangelizing in Agouacon and Thio--these are 2 villages we discovered a little over a year ago. Neither village has a Christian church or even a solidified group of believers--last year one lone believer remarked, "We need a church." Pray that as the team interacts with villagers people will be drawn to Christ, and then the believers will join together to being a church. Pray also for a national to feel led to work in the village to help build a church and serve as pastor.

As blessed as the time has been for our team in Benin, they are beginning to feel the physical drain--continue to pray for stamina, for rest that restores and energizes, and for continued focus on the mission.
