Tuesday September 8, 2009:
In Ouesse again this morning (we passed a truck so closely on the way that AB said he touched it without even putting his hand out the window – driving is so exciting here)
We began the day at the school today and setting up two soccer (football) fields and dividing the more than 60 kids by age (as much as possible). Squeaky, led several soccer drills and games for two hours and then Audra and Squeaky led devotionals for the kids. At least 20 kids raised their hands and said the wanted to know Jesus!
We ended the day walking through the town evangelizing. Ryan and Kathy returned to the home of the man who wanted to debate the bible yesterday. We shared with him again for about an hour and he still did not feel Jesus calling but his two friends who came to listen to the white man talk did! We prayed with them and they committed to join the local church. We left laughing again and promising to return someday.
The ride home seemed shorter today and everyone’s spirits were high and we are looking forward to tomorrow and the village of Lahothan (only 30 minutes away)
Please pray for the team - our safety, health and that the Lord will continue to provide these wonderful opportunities to share Jesus with people who are so very excited to hear the good news!
Pray tonight for the people of Lahothan and that they will be open and looking as were the people of Ouesse.
Your news is so exciting. We prayed fervently on Sunday for divine appointments and for God to use soccer balls, bubbles, and storying in mighty ways. It is wonderful to hear of answered prayer!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember how bad the roads and traffic are--it seems like sometimes there are more potholes than road! We continue to pray for God's protection as you travel.
I'm praying for an especially sweet time in Lahothan. Hope you can locate Yalipon and encourage her as the new believer she is. Let Rosalyn know that we have prayed for her business as she asked us to.
The church at Lahothan is strong in spirit and the desire to reach the entire village is also strong. I pray that God will use your storying to disciple the believers who are already there as well as reach out to the many who are lost. I'm also praying that God will call out a pastor for this young church and that the small group of believers will grow in their personal faith and that the group will grow in numbers.

I was reading in Joshua this morning in John Maxwell's leadership Bible and wanted to encourage you with these thoughts; Joshua's faithfulness prompted God to lift him up. He (Joshua) lived ahead of his contemporaries, above his circumstances, deeper than his calamities, and beyond his capabilities. Thank you, Benin team, for being our Joshua!

Unbelievably exciting news!!! We are praying for you continually and it seems as though God is protecting you! How did you ever find that tiny melted wire? I did not know we had a mechanic in the group! Seriously, I will enjoy sharing this with the group at our Wednesday night service. You will be asleep when we are meeting, but as you rise on Thursday please know of our love and support. Heaven has already been enlarged! Pastor
