This morning we met our translators Caliste, Modeste and Richard and left the hotel in Glazoue about 8:00 am and headed 90 minutes north (45 min on paved roads and 45 min on rough dirt roads) to the town of Ouesse (Waysay).
About halfway to Ouesse the rented car stopped running and coasted to a stop! Ryan and Cossi worked on the car for about 20 minutes and found a melted and broken wire to the fuel pump. Ryan took the wire from the hood light and Audra had some tape in her first aid kit and we spliced the wire - the car started again and we were off.
At Ouesse we met with the pastors and about 20 church members for a prayer and worship service. We shared briefly and AB taught the Demoniac story. After lunch we spent the afternoon evangelizing throughout the town, meeting with people we came to in the streets and in their homes.
There were several great stories from the day:
Ryan, Kathy, Modeste (translator) and Benwa (local church member) shared and prayed with several families and had the opportunity to pray with two to receive Christ! We also had a long discussion with an old man who had many questions and wanted to debate most of the bible - which he seemed to know well. In the end he did not feel led to Jesus but we prayed for him and left laughing with to promise to return.
Audra, Squeaky, Caliste (translator), Cami and Julienne (local church members) shared Jesus with five groups of people with at least 10 praying to receive Jesus!
A.B. and Richard and three local church members had the opportunity to share Jesus with more than 30 people and eight men and two women prayed the sinners prayer and received Jesus!
We ended the day hot, tired and excited about what God is doing here. We had a great day despite Satan trying to stop us with car trouble this morning! Can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for tomorrow.
