Thursday, September 10, 2009:

Back today in Logozohoue – We arrived around 8:30 am with more than 30 kids waiting on us to play soccer The kids were divided into three age groups participated in several soccer drills and finished with some fast paced games. We had over 100 kids again today. Kathy shared Jesus with the younger two groups and Squeky with the older group. We had a great morning - the weather was very hot again and the occasional cloud was very welcome.

After soccer at the local school the team headed to the church for a time of training with the local church members. It is so encouraging to see the desire of these believers to hear God’s word. The team shared some bible stories and sowed ho you can use them in one-on-one evangelism.

After the training we divided into three teams, each with a translator and two or three local members and walked though the village of Logozohoue talking to people and sharing Jesus. Again - God arranged several appointments for the team.

Evangelism teams:

Squeaky, Audra, Caliste and several local church members walked through the village sharing Jesus. The team met with a woman who said she had heard of Jesus but did not know who He is. One of the local church members shared the Demoniac story and then Audra shared the story of creation to Christ. After the story the woman was very happy and prayed to receive Christ. Next the team stopped and prayed at a local mosque and then visited with a woman who had attended several different kinds of churches and knew of Jesus but had never accepted Him as her Savior.

A.B, Kathy, Richard and several local church members. The team met two families while walking through the village. Some were members of the Church of God. The team first met two young women and shared with them and both prayed to receive Christ. Next the team met a woman who moved to Benin 6 years ago from the Ivory Coast. She was a hairdresser in Logozohoue and accepted Christ a few years ago and as a result everyone stopped coming to her shop and she had to close. The team prayed for her and it was a good and uplifting time. A.B shared with an older woman who was a Christian and having some physical problems. The team prayed for the woman’s health and her family who are not Christians.

Ryan, Modeste and two local church Members shared for some time with an old man who said e had heard people talking about Jesus but did not know anything about him. He did not choose to receive Christ but as the team was leaving a woman who had been listening called out to the team from the next hut and asked the team to come and tell her Jesus like we were telling the man. The team walked over to the woman and began sharing with her. The woman as the team was sharing with the first woman asked two other women sitting nearby to come and listen. After sharing the story of Jesus with them all the women prayed to receive Jesus! They were able to talk to the local church members and committed to attend the local church so they could learn more about God’s plan for them. Afterward the team visited a woman who was a church member but has a twins earlier this year and her husband has forbidden her from going to Church. She is a believer and wants to attend but cannot go against her husband. Please pray for her and for God to soften the heart of her husband.
