We Need Peace, Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010

The team travelled to Gbalin today to conduct teaching seminars. The little church that began with a handful of believers with whom we shared in April 2009 has been under persecution from other villagers and some of the leaders. A.B. shared that they have now moved to a different location for services, but are still being pressured. He said there is lots of strife and discord in the village.

When we first visited in Gbalin in April 2009 and met King Tofa for the first time, we told him we came with a message of peace. He was excited and welcomed us, saying his village needed peace. It seems Gbalin still needs peace. Pray that the people of Gbalin will come to know the Prince of Peace. A.B. says Gbalin still needs much prayer.

In spite of this, the ladies had about 30 women attending their teaching seminar and the guys had about 20 men for their training session and evangelization activities in the village. Both sessions were productive and successful. God is still at work in Gbalin--in April 2009 there were only 5 believers and now 50 people attended a Bible seminar. Seeds continue to be planted and nurtured.

Pastor Romain came and assisted along with Phillippe. Romain again expressed appreciation for the motorcycle and shared how beneficial it has been to his ministry. The team also had a brief meeting with King Tofa at his invitation. They were able to encourage Tofa and pray with him for a few minutes.

Keep praying that the peace that passes all understanding will permeate this village and the hearts of the Mahi people in Gbalin.
