The team packed and left Glazoue for the 4+ hour trip to Coutonou. Tomorrow we have several administrative meetings with folks there. Jeff and Barbara Singerman suggested that our team be able to schedule transportation and accommodations on our own next time so we will meet with car rental, hotel, guest house etc.
Part of the team stopped at the home of our driver Kossi – who is a Christian and met his family – who are not. It was a great encouragement to Kossi and his wife was able to see other Christian women and she was encouraged and happy to meet us.
Yet another exhilarating ride across Benin’s highways today - the rental vehicle stopped again – this time a broken throttle cable – but a quick fix by Kossi and we were off agian.
Accident count has now risen to 65 with 149 broken down. (150 if you count us!)
All is well…

"I stand amazed in His presence"--what incredible things God has done thru you these last few days. We continue to pray and lift up each of you and the Mahi people. Thank God for doors that have been opened, lives that have been changed, and seeds that have been planted. I'm also praying that Tuesday will be productive and you will be able to help all of us making future trips to Benin feel comfortable in the logistics of car rental, hotels, exchanging money, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you understand now why I said that Six Flags design engineers studied the roads in Benin to design roller coasters--it seems there are more potholes than road in some places! We are grateful that you have only broken down and not been in the accident count and will continue to pray for your safety.
Looking forward to hearing detailed reports and already planning for the next steps in our engagement to reach the Mahi.
